thats the super beefy dana 30 :D

sweet lookin ride, bet you cant wait to roll it and test that cage

Lebaron hood vents are probably the best you're going to find. They use up the most space that the hood will allow, and it works great for ventilation purposes, and drops temps by a LOT.

Love the flames!
I noticed you had hood vents. I'm having problems with overheating on my rig. Do those seem to get the job done? If so, where can I get some?
Captin Nemo is selling some hood vents, I got a set from him. Check out:

Great Job on the rig Gary, I even like the flames and I am not into that.
Did you get any new scraps from Fordyce?

Thanks for all the compliments guys! Its been a lot of work, time to beat it up again :)

Lets see if I can answer some qs

Ranger, The tubes are welded all the way around where they go through the sheetmetal. They are also welded to some of the interior roof supports. I may eventually get some cracks but then again I may not. And that is a dana turdy. Its done me okay so far, knock on wood, I have only busted one intermediate shaft.

XJonabudget. the tool box is made of wood, it does slide out, its about 7 inches deep and the sliders were the most HD one my brother had in his cabinet shop :)

Hinkster, did I see a pic of your dakota or something, I'm not worried about style points from you :)

Xjeeper, I didn't know the tj flares had a front and a back, I got them off of a parts xj, so I used em :)

JJsharmon rig specs : d30, 8.8 ARBs York OBA, 4:1 homebrew LAs, traction bar, waggy steering and lots of other junk.

Go Jeep, yeah its not Ideal, I made a lot of compromises for functionality and comfort. My goal with the cage is to increase safety to the occupants, increase stiffness, and to protect the bodywork from rocks that reach out at you and hopefully a flop can be survived with just some bent tube, and minimal sheet metal damage.

Shot stopper, the hood vents are actually soffet vents from HD they seem to help but the jeep still runs hot, I can't run the AC long on the trail etc.

Letterman, I just got some rockrail/rear bumper scrapes on fordyce, just the norm. The paint seems to be holding up allright, as far as brush scratches and what not. It is that rustoleum hammerite stuff.
