April '09 JP Magazine

I think we would have heard about that one by now....

april issue...april fools joke. how do these mags always get me on these. last year hot rod mag's big story in the april issue was that AMC was back. i fell for that one too. you know how the old saying goes...fool me once shame on you...

Yeah, I tried searching the web, even going Wall Street Journal, but I could find no other mention of it, so I'm leaning towards April Fools' prank.

I've never seen a bigger smile on anybody's face in Moab. Rainer was having the time of his life.

I guess the new issue hasn't hit newsstands yet, Borders didn't have it.

I had a chat with Rainer today by email and he's really pleased about the cover. I'm sure it wont be long before he's back.

Mike, were you out there for the anniversary thing?

Yup, I was there. Got in the night of 10/08 and left the morning of 10/12. In fact, we were within shouting distance at one point. I stayed at the Inca Inn about 5 rooms down from where Johnny, Josh and his wife were staying at Inca. My wife and I rode out with Cal in his Honda then rode bitch on the trail every day, so my Jeep was not there. Rumor has it you had to leave early. I got there later in the week, so we were probably only there on the same day for a day or two and just never ran into each other.

I don't remember dates off hand... but Moab was a stepping stone in a cross-country clusterF. Didn't have to leave early per my schedule, but IIRC, I bounced on Fri, or like 3 am Sat.

Ah, well I was there Wed evening through Sunday am. Wound up doing one official run, two un-officials, show n' shine and the closing dinner.
