Just another minion!
ANYONE who lives within 100mi of La Quinta needs to know this!
The Wal-Mart on the corner of 111 and Washington has closed down (they moved down the road to a new super center) and they are THROWING AWAY all of the store display racks.
Stainless steel...
1/4" peg board...
steel shelving...
light fixtures....
All of this is being thrown into large dumpsters surrounding the store...
and its all for you to take....no charge.
I have never in my life seen such an oppertunity to outfit any garage with all the shelving, lighting and peg-board you could possibly need.
I loaded up two truck loads before I hadto head on back to Borrego Springs..
The lady in charge said you can have all you want...just don't make a mess and don't even think about getting hurt and thinking your going to sue anyone (salvage at your own risk)
I am not kidding here people..
This is the dumpster dive of a lifetime.....thousands of dollars worth...for free!!
Rick
It will all be gone by tomarrow (friday) afternoon....
dumpsters are being picked up starting tomarrow morning, but they have no way of getting all of them in one day....
good luck

Find out and let us know. It might be worth the trip (btw, post an address as well :D)

Not all a mess there. When we were there, it was only us and some laborers who where loading it all into the dumpsters...
My friend is heading back out as we speak....

There is several roll off bins FULL ! of steel shelves & wire shelve/racks, several clothes type of racks(many bent & twisted) some sheets of press board. I didn't snag anything, partially cause it would be hard to get it into the XJ & a time factor & the need to remove stuff to get to other stuff. If you had a clean slate & time to rummage....without a long trip it might be a good thing..... just my goofball opinion.
I cruised by later & 2 bins had been removed & one was about to be removed.
Hwy. 111 & Washington St. are the closest major cross streets, the store is at Hwy.111 and Adams St., Easiest way into it from I-10 is I-10 to Washington St. then South to Hwy.111 then East to Adams St. the old store is on the N.W. corner of Hwy.111 & Adams St.
I don't know if it'd be worth a trip especially cause the stuff might not be there.
See Ya !

They built one of those super center Wal-Marts just down the street.
Keep an eye out at your local W.M., you never know they might close it down & open up another nearby.....then let the looting begin. I HATE !!! W.M. & don't understand the move across the street....
See Ya !
