Anyone see any problems for this setup?

I spent alittle time outside in the cold and mess with getting my spare tire and hi lift inside the back. This what I came up with.

I use an old axle shaft weld to the stock plate. Going to make stronger once I get a different xj. It not the pretty setup but it works.

Went on alittle road trip to make sure everything will stay in place. Will some time paint it since it is still bare. Also make a nice little place for my straps to stay.

But you got a 2 door which unfair you got more room.

im all about function over form... to a point!

Meh. Being pretty was not a goal. I had to get it done before a trip, so things were just thrown together.

Although, I would have to say the first one is more ghetto then mine. An axle shaft thrown in a hole with the plastic cut around it? At least mines painted!:sad1:

How you figure? They are the same WD and outside dimensions! Only major difference is the lack of back doors.

See without doors there he can mount the tire there never have to worry as much if someone what to ride with since it would a 2 door where as 4 doors everybody seems to want a ride. To me when I owned 2 door cars nobody wanted to be in the back seat.

Mine is a similar idea, but with the jack opposite the spare...though my spare is on an outside carrier now

If you haven't already, I recomend moving that extinguisher to a more useful location, like the front seat bracket.

As for the axle shaft tire locators. I am speachless.

If you're referring to mine, I have another one down by the transmission tunnel on the passenger side where I can grab it from the driver's seat :spin1: The one in the back is there for....well, I'm not really sure :smoker:

Well, you can never have too many of the little suckers when things go bad! As long as you have one in reach of the driver, that's the main thing :D

One of the most pittiful thngs I have seen was a truck on fire (power steering pump), the driver not having a fire extinguisher on hand, and the mechanic who was watching his bud rockcrawl yelling to the crowd for a fire extinguisher. It took 5 minutes for the crowd to produce what should have been at the drivers fingertips. Lucky, as I said it was just a PS hose. It could have been worse.
