I've had a stock XJ for maybe 4 years now. I met up with someone in the Portland area who took me along with a group of other Jeeps, and I had a blast! I've done Urban Wheeling in California, before I moved to Portland to go to college. I'll join NAXJA when I get some money pulled together.

I only did wheeling in mud, gravel, some small hills, and small pools of water. I was hoping, because I see most of you are in Washington, that there are others near Portland that I could talk to or maybe meet up with and talk about Jeeps, or even go wheeling. I'm saving for a Budget Boost, and have read mixed reactions. I also want to put on some skid plates, cause I'm so low to the ground. I have a stock 98 Cherokee 4 door, 4.0L.

Oh, here's some pictures from when we went up.

I own the little white one on the bottom.

I'm still unclear on alot of things, but I'm curious what "hydro-assist" is. Is it related at all to ARB Snorkels?

Where is that Hwy at ?
There is a bunch of XJ`s where you are and they run Tillamook forest, just hang ,they will chat soon.
Welcome aboard

Good to see another Portland Jeeper. That spot is off of 224 or 212 I believe, right up by Promentory and a ways past Wildcat Mt. PoSxJ and myself go up there every now and then to try and find some trails. We're always looking for more people to join us. Thinking about heading over to TSF in the near future if you want to go. That place has trails for everyone.

Volcano Run. Aug. 06...as soon as i get enough time to get a map...ITS ON!

Nice, those pics look to be close by to me. I live in Colton, about 15 minutes from Estecada. We've also got Goat Mountain with some similar wheelin that a friend and I play on.

And of course there is the infamous TSF. Went there a couple weeks ago with a small group and had a blast.

What's TSF? I'm going up with a similar group on Sunday to Browns Camp. I went there once and drove all around, but only took a few Novice trails that were way easy. I still have California plates, but I'm getting an OHV sticker on the way up. I was told I'll have to leave my jeep and do alot of watching. I'll take my video camera and shoot some video if that's the case. Is the Volcano Run a big thing? Like an event type deal?

TSF = Tillamook State Forest, Brown's Camp is part of TSF.

I've only been there one and that was a few weeks ago. First real off roading I've done in my XJ and it did pretty good. I made it everywhere that we went with just some help from another XJ with a tow strap on waterfall.

Here are some pics from that day, mine is the darker blue 97 XJ with black wheels and spare on the roof. (some of the pictures are X's now untill they go into print)

Ah ha! You went wheeling with Brian. He was the guy in the ZJ. Nice guy. We wheeled up at TSF not too long ago. It was a blast. Very good spotter.

Anyway, I live 45 minutes north of P-land. I'd be up for some wheeling. We're aiming for just after thanksgiving to run up to TSF and play on some rocks.

Count me in for any after-Thanksgiving day wheeling. I've been aching to get back out to TSF again. Just never have anyone to go with.
