Anyone near Lebanon?

I need a big favor. I helped a friend change the brakes on his JK a few weeks ago. I don't know what happened, but the caliper on one side lost its bolts and it can't be driven. I tightened it the best I could without using electric tools. The other issue is that I am new to using a torque wrench and he can't get the lug nuts off the other side to get the right bolts to fix it. If anyone is near Lebanon and can help me, I will give you money (20 dollars if that is enough) to help him. He is going to have to have it towed in tomorrow and if I can save him from having to get it towed, I would appreciate it.

If you can, post here and I will pm you his phone and address if he wants help.

Tell him to man up and kick the crap out of the tire, it'll come off. You're making this a lot harder than it should be. Go to the dealership and see if they will give you the info on the bolts or sell them to you.....

I'm not sure how you lose caliper bolts, but...

Google led me to this: caliper bolts

FLEXY, you want this poor bastage to kick his tar while it's still bolted to the Jeep?

TH, tell him to get the proper lug nut socket, a 3" extension, a 1/2" drive ratchet, and a long pipe to put over the ratchet. That will loosen whatever you gorilla'd on there.

I forgot to say loosen the lug nuts first! :eyes: :D Oh and my reading comprehension sucks sometimes......

I suggested finding a way to get to harbor freight or some other cheap tool store and get a cheap breaker bar and a 19mm socket. He will have to have it towed tomorrow at this point. I did everything I have done on my XJ, my moms van, and my old car. I have no idea what happened. I pulled hard on the ratchet until I felt it was solid in and tight when putting on the caliper.

Bolts come loose, it happens. Now having it towed over 5 bucks worth of bolts seems like a complete waste of money to me though.

If I wasn't -30 dollars in my checking account (thank goodness my tax refund should be in my account tomorrow) I would have drove up there right then and there. I am just glad he isn't mad at me. The big issue he had was that he couldn't get the lug nuts loose. Tried to get them just tight enough. I agree about the tow, but I can't help him since I am an hour and half away.

I live about 20 min away. But can't help till after 5

I guess things are okay, he has to wait on new brake pads anyway. Apparently when the caliper came loose, it destroyed the pads. He also orders a 12v impact wrench (I don't know which one though) to get hte lug nuts off.
