is anyone here into RC rock crawling?

i love RC cars. i have quite a few of them. but i've never had a rock crawler. theyre 1/10th scale. im looking into them right now, i am just curious. everything i have is gas, this would be first foray into electric in a LONG time, besides a 1/18th scale RTR truck

that is the kit im looking at. ARTR and all i need are electronics. if anyone has any knowledge hit me with it...im curious.

thanks!

I'm buying the Losi Mini crawler at tax time!

I like to play on the rocks with my geared and locked emaxx with soft springs, I have some tires and railroad ties set up for my jumbo kong tires, but it get's too tippy. My next machine will be an axial ax10 scorpion, they look pretty wicked!

A friend of mine has a pretty big crawler (about 18 or 20" long probably) and it's a lot of fun.

I've thought about getting one for myself but I'm a cheap bastard :D

The Losi Mini crawler is 240 for everything including batteries!

yea...roughly. thats depending on how good the stuff i get is. lol

yeah some of that stuff is EXPENSIVE. I think i'll stick with the little Losi!

Check out www.RCCrawler.com , there several of us from this site on there who've gotten into it as well. I've got a Wheely King, AX10, and Losi Mini Crawler right now.

There's Bjoehandley! I figured you had a crawler or two! :D

I used to be really into them (read spent to much money) before the whole crawler phase became as big as it is now.
I've still got all my stuff. It's just to costly to run them now. I still charge some of them up and run 'em just not as much.
My outrigger boat on the other hand gets used one or twice a week during the summer months.

thats the reason i'm buying the Losi! I'm not gonna dump a ton of money into it. I will, however, be ordering metal lockers for the diffs when i order the truck!:D

Famous last words!
One thing leads to another and it ends up being like this:

Well, the metal lockers, I might as well get CVDs...
Oh, while I have everything apart I'll get a carbon fiber deck...
Man, I really like those wheels and tires...
Those new tires will need a better steering servo...
Now I can't have this sweet truck without that $300 digital radio...

Trust me, I did the above a few times (just more receivers for the radio). I'll just stick to what I have now and poor my money into something I can actually sit in while driving it. :D

Oh i will change wheels and tires but i have a full scale rig to dump money into first. I know its like a snow ball but i've made it a whole year almost on my Stampede only buying 25 dollars worth in parts. Since i toasted my transmission gears in a huge jump!

The Stampede was my first. I got mine back before ESCs and RTRs! It don't really look like it used to anymore! Which reminds me... I do have a new body that I need to paint for it.
