Hey everyone. Long story short, I am a Puget Sound native, have been in Southern California for the past 3 years, and am moving up to Pullman. Just seeing if anyone is in the area and where you wheel.

I'm looking forward to getting back up to WA for a couple years after dealing with California's crazy laws.

I just left Pullman recently, and I will say I never really found a decent place to wheel. Moscow mountain had some decent stuff but it has since been closed and is illegal now. Bombing around on some gravel farm roads is the closest thing I got to wheeling around there. Now if your willing to drive spokane has some areas and ive heard of stuff around Lewistion but have no idea where.

down by c'our delaine they have some stuff, check w/ the idaho guys. of course theres some sand dune stuff down by tri cities and the vernita bridge, and the naches area. theres some folks down there too, just keep checking back.

I go to WSU, Ty is right there isnt much actual wheeling around here. There is supposed to be an OHV park by Spokane called Riverside, but I've never talked to anyone thats been to it. The only wheeling I ever get up here is when it snows, then you can go play in the snow drifts.

I'll be at WAZU in two years. :)

Moto, I'm going to be transfering in to WSU. I am an active duty Marine, but am going back to school. Pretty good gig. I looked into Riverside a little, all I found is that there is an ORV area. Maybe a trip is in order.

Isnt Pullman kinda close to Natchies? and by close I mean like within 4 hours of?

Your are right with the about 4 hours. I wouldn't call that close though. Tri Cities and the dunes there are also about 3 hours away. Spokane and that area is about an hour and a half drive as well, with Courd alaine (however its spelled) another 30 past that. I grew up about 10 minutes from Naches and there is some fun stuff out there, I here its all closed down right now however.

It was a real bummer living in Pullman for five years and never being able to wheel unless I went home. But you gotta love the extra curricluar activities...

A trip would be great, but it will have to wait till fall cause I am leaving for home soon. There's a couple other xj's rolling around here but they are never dirty so I doubt they know of any wheeling spots. There is some pics of the riverside park on one of the Idaho 4x4 chapters, can't remember which one.

and by extra curricular you mean alot of drinking:D

I'm not getting there until August. I am leaving Cali and heading to WA with a detour of a couple months in Virginia. So the old Heap will have to do two cross country trips. I just spent a good week taking care of all the little things I should have a long time ago. New radiator, PS pump and cooler, tranny lines and service, oil change...the list goes on. So it should be good for another 12 years or 130,000 miles, whichever comes first.

A fall trip to Spokane sounds good.

Ty, what is the deal with Natches? It is all closed?

The transition to college life shouldn't be too hard, because the unofficial past time of the Marine Corps is drinking. I think I should fit right in.

Out of the Clarkston, WA & Lewiston, ID area there is some good snow wheelin' but not much else. There is some hooligans that go up into an area called Waha and tear up stuff with their tough muddin' trucks, not my cup of tea. I've heard good things about the North Idaho area, Wallace, Kellog, Mulan with some good trails. Juniper Dunes is less than 3hrs away. Sorry you are moving to the middle of nowhere.

Do they Idaho guys hang out here or another chapter? All the places you named are doable, I would like to find something withing an hour or two, instead of 3 or four. It's just kind of surprising that with all the land, and as you stated, being in the middle of nowhere, there isn't any decent wheeling close by.

Well have you been to Pullman not much land that facilitates wheeling. Its in the middle of the rolling Palouse hills. So mudding is about the only thing you can find. On top of that its all farm land as far as the eye can see.

The Little Naches area should open up soon as I hear its just closed to do winter damage. There are plenty of other trails around Naches up white pass that should be open thou.

DesJardin, I live in Clarkston aswell. Drive around in a Dark green xj on stock rims painted black, Bedliner on the bottom edge and skulls across the back.

I always wonder if any of the other xj's around here belong to this forum. My buddy told me about this place after he sold his and I bought mine.

But yea 7 mile in spokane is about the only place I have heard of. At Spokane Raceway they have a sign marking where the OHV vehicles go but I've never checked it out since I go for the drag racing.
