Maybe it be worth starting a sticky thread with those who are needing things from the yards can post up, so when others are able to go they might be able to keep an eye out/grab it for them?

Well anywhoo...

If anyone is headed to the yards anytime soon...I'm looking for an alternator from either a 4.0 or 4.7L WJ (so 99-04 I believe).

So...anyone headed out soon? :D

ZJ tie rods, drag links, etc can get pretty pricey. The drag link alone for most consumers is gonna be $80-$110 or so...... but used is, well.... used. Could go bad a mile down the road after installing it. Damage can be done to the joint when removing them.....

Money best spent is on new parts. Especially where your steering/suspension is concerned.

You can do the ZJ Tie Rod and Tie Rod End from Autozone for $70 new. I bought the Tie Rod and Sleeve at Autozone, but got the Tie Rod End from Advance Auto. It looked a lot better and had a better boot that has a wire around the two sealing points for better water protection and grease retention.

Remember, it is the V8 model. The 4.0 has the same hollow tube ours has.
Tie Rod "long bar" $34.99 Autozone # DS1312
Adjuster Sleeve $14.99 Autozone # ES2079S
Tie Rod end "threaded ball joint" $18 from Advance Auto # DW-ES3096L
Remember 95 Grand Cherokee 5.2 4wd I put in Laredo. If you just give them the part numbers you can bypass all the specs.

Some stuff is better to get brand new. But sometimes you can find stuff at the Jyard with new or rebuilt parts on it that are in great shape. I got a front diff and brake calipers for mine that were in good shape. But high wear parts are better if they are new or low miles. JMO

Also, the drag link in our XJ's is a solid piece of steel so really it is an ok part. Just the Tie Rod and Tie Rod end are super weak since the Tie Rod is a small hollow tube that can get bent real easy out on the trail. The ZJ one is thicker and solid steel.

Are you looking for an aftermarket front bumper?
Is so I found this one at the upap in Denver! :D

I seen that piece of work a couple weekends ago, its a work of art. Did you notice the bent up license plates used as sheet metal to cover the giant holes they cut in the rear fenders because they cut wayyyy past the pinch seam?

I need a VSS for a 96 Honda Civic with an AT for my daughter's car since her good for nothing husband took off.

Yup did you also notice the hood?

Hey now, whats wrong with that bumper? An old mate of mine makes those and sells them on craigslist. Those things are super pimp, and in high demand out in Iowa. :D
