anyone have thousands of miles on a cracked manifold?

Try patching it with this stuff....just prep the surface well before application and let it cure properly!

Good idea. I used some stuff I got at Napa and it imediately burned right off. I also thought about some of that header wrap that hot roders use to scavage and to get the under hood temps down.

This is the only compound able to take the temps. Anything else has a low melting point.....so yea, like high-temp JB weld, it will still melt off. I've heard of people using Marine-Tex successfully (marine exhaust repairs) but the company says they can't guarantee anything for manifolds because of the extreme heat.

This is the only stuff I've seen that advertises such a high temperature.

It did reduce the sound of leak, I must say.

BTW header wrap will keep in the temperature of the header, which can make them crack faster. Many header companies void warranties if that stuff is put on.....

Sure, it will get under-hood temps down, but your header will be just as hot, maybe even hotter since it can't properly vent itself.

Oh, so they really are only heald on with 2 bolts. i thought it was more like 12.

Does the intake manifold wedge the exhaust manifold up against the gasket?

Never took one apart.......

I had a cracked manifold for awhile. As the crack got worse I started to notice that my engine temperature kept climbing higher as time went by. This started to became a big problem when climbing big hills. Since a exhaust manifold is cheaper than an engine I opted to replace it with a SS one from here.

Good quality and the price was right. Now my engine exhausts all the hot gases out the tailpipe and it runs and stays cool.
