Anyone got a garage?

Not a problem, any questions just post up... I am sure a few of us will be around.

well.....here goes....

front went in fine. ZJ springs and spacers, no problem....only took about 1 1/4 hours (45 minutes for the passenger, 1/2 hour once we figured out some tricks)

and on to the back...worked on it for 4 hours before we finally gave up after hitting the following snags:
-not having a high enough jack
-having problems undoing the clamps holding the leafs together
-taking out the front bolt (wouldn't come out, then we spent another 45 minutes trying go get it back in (wouldnt line up with the hole))
-tried to remedy this by taking out the rear bolt, but the bolt part was towards the inside and was only about 1 1/2 inches away from the hitch
-finally got leaf bolts back in, got leafs apart, starting stacking leafs, realized i didn't get new u-bolts and it was 10 minutes before O'Reillys closed, so tried to put just the AAL in, and because we didn't unbolt the shock, we couldnt get the frame high enough/axle low enough to get the new, longer pin, in.
-said screw it and put it back to stock, since i had to be at work at midnight, going to go at it again sometime this week.

so all in all, i need:
-undo shocks to let axle droop lower
-get a higher lifting jack
-get longer u-bolts
-get some sleep!

now the jeep sits at a rake, because there's 3" lift in the front and stock in the back!!! grrrr......

that would be great man. i get off at 8 AM here in plano, and can pick them up any time tomorrow. my number is 214-770-2417. Thanks man!

Ooooh! Bad idea! Never post your number out like that. Now somebody is gunna use it for mischeivious actions hahaha!

you have that prerunner look now :P i've been there and done that. a grinder with a cut off wheel will help with your frozen clamps. then just buy some new ones at advanced for <$5 and if it were me i wouldnt use the AAL its just going to kill your leaf pack faster. just throw in another XJ main leaf. or find a hitch that will work on an 86' toyota 4runner and wait till after christmas and i'll trade you my complete XJ 2" lift. :D

Wow, i must have been a moron to not disconnect the lower shock mount the first time around. MUCH easier when you do that! Got back around to the Heep tonight (after driving a week with it looking like im launching at a dragstrip) and got the bastard pack and AAL in. Only had one hiccup, involving a new centering pin that was slightly bent. Other than that it went in great. I put in the AAL, one long leaf, and one medium leaf, and it's still raked higher in the back. I do gotta say though, a true Leaf Pack Lift is coming soon, because the ride on this thing SUCKS. It is nice to have it lifted all the way around though. I'm at work right now so i can't post pics, but I'll do my best to remember to take some when i get home at 8:30 AM. Thanks for all the help and advice guys!

Is the ride really stiff? My RE full leaf pack kit, took a few months and a 2 good wheeling trips to soften up, and it's still stiff compared to stock.

yeha, real stiff. it's loosened up a little bit (and i emphasize LITTLE) in the last week, but im sure it just needs time. thanks again for the u-bolts man, they worked GREAT!

too embarassed with my stock tires right now. get paid monday and already have some tires lined up from a buddy of mine....pics will come soon!

Boo Hoo... I ran and wheeled with 4.5" of lift and 29" all seasons on mine. I have pictures to prove it.

Prove it. :)

OK... Here you go. Enjoy:

That was my first ever trip to BMRA and the first time I really wheeled my XJ. I was highly impressed and was a XJ addict since. Boy looking at these pictures makes me think of how I have done to it and put into it.

Oh and BTW... that's not my plate number anymore.

Pahahaha I like the first one.
