Use studs instead of bolts for their main caps? Currently crunching numbers for my motor. I wanna run studs for the main caps. Just don't know if they will fit between the caps and oil pan. If you have done it I would greatly appreciate the info. TIA

NICE!!!! :D

I don't think I have seen anyone actually use studs for the mains. I also don't think there would be a clearance problem as the the later blocks have main girdles which requires a stud on the cap bolts. I have heard of people using studs for the head bolts.

I recently called ARP about the availability of studs for the 4.0L (stroker) They had one set that the said might work, but to have the correct size made to order he quoted me roughly $500-$800 for one set with tooling set up and all. I thought about it a bit more and realized that the stud girdle holes would have to be enlarged also, not leaving a lot of material around the holes. So I am just running new Mopar bolts (with the stud top)

I didn't mention this is for a Renix. I'm gonna read that pirate thread right now. The ARP price seems a bit steep. Last time I ordered studs from ARP, I just gave them a length and tpi count and they sent them on over. I spent nowhere near that price. It was an oddball build too. Maybe it just happened to be something they intended for other use that just happened to fit my app. I appreciate the info.
