anyone ever registered a vehicle with no paperwork

im looking into buying a beater scout for cheap and it has no paperwork
has anyone here ever registered a car with no paperwork?
i was thinking maybe i could do a mechanics lien on it?

Check the VIN... if it is off the books and you have a bill of sale you can apply for a title and usually get one. Mechanic's lien is very very time consuming.

If you "find" a bill of sale make sure its on a DMV special bill of sale. they werent going to register my junk with a hand written bill of sale on a piece of notebook paper.

You will also need an Application for a Duplicate Title.

If the scout's not super cheap, it might not be worth it. Registration can be a nightmare. Good luck.
