WELCOME TO AFTERMARKET PARTS

I know. But, it's one thing to "hog out" a $25 set of weld on spring pads to fit. Totally another to have to "hog out" a set of $130-140 set of "super duper wham-a-dyne" pads that are supposed to fit your application:dunno:

They're still a weld-on app. I say quitcherbitchin' and break out the grinder. 5 mins with a grinder isn't going to hurt you.

I don't think I've recieved a part yet that I didn't have to modify slightly... in manufacturing, both on jeeps end and any aftermarket end, it is 100% impossible to make everything exactly to spec every single time. If you have something off a fraction of an inch, it can throw something off more and so on and so forth. I agree with some about if the part is completely off, it's your money, but it doesn't look like this perch is off that bad. I've made worse work. Just my .02

There are a lot of Holiday Inn engineers out there who think their junk should fit exactly right the first time without modification. For all the energy used ranting and bitching they could have EASILY modified the part to fit.

Well, if you're Ok with spending $140 on spring pads, and then have to grind them just to make them square with the axle tube, then more power to you. I know I have to modify crap every day here at the shop to make it fit...I expect it of the inexpensive stuff. I do not expect it (but unfortunately often see it) of the expensive stuff.

S'all good

We do it all the time with 'bolt on' $6000 Tera axles even. The point has already been brought up that if it wasn't built on your Jeep, it'll likely take a little modifying to fit. What's so fawking hard to understand about that? $140 is nothing to some people, so your cost comparison is irrelevant. Who says the axle tube in question is even square? We've got one guy's word for it and a crappy picture to go along with it. :bunny:

I think I said that I'm used to having to modify parts to fit. I think I understand. It's Ok for me not to agree with spending the extra $$ and still having to mod it to fit in certain applications. Like I also said, if you're OK with that, good for you. I'm just sharing my opinion...S'all good:D

If I got parts like that from one of my vendors at work I would not hesitate to send them back. I don’t know how those parts are made but the cheapest and most reliable way to make them is quantity would be to CNC laser cut them and CNC press-break them. With those processes they should not be visibly off. That being said I got some parts back for one of my best vendors the other day where the break was not set up right and they were off-spec. If the pics are representative of the parts I’m sure they are out of TNT’s spec and there is probably a whole batch like that. I would not hesitate to ask for a replacement. A customer conscience retailer should just send out another one so that threads like this don’t show up. I vote if you don’t think it’s right send it back. If it’s that off they will see the problem and should have no problem sending you a new one. This will also help them to fix the process control problem if one exits. Remember you are the customer. All business is customer service. They owe you a good faith effort to resolve your concern and if they are as good as there current reputation it sounds like with a bit of communication on your part you will get it. Good luck!

I guess that's what I was getting to. It'd just take a couple minutes to adjust them and you're back in action.

Grab that grinder and massage it real quick. You'll be back on the trail in a matter of a couple hours. :)

"Holiday Inn Engineers"... that's great. I'm going to have to remember that one. :D

Why don't you buy these from me, Your blind if you look at that picture and say the problem is minor,Iv'e had no less that 6 people look at these here at my house sitting on the tube, which by the way is not bent, and tell me their way off,

AS FOR Holiday Inn engineers ,exactly where did you get your degree,I have a real one hanging in my office above my desk, You don't know me so quit making statements like that.

I'm not the dunce who paid $140 for perches that aren't necessary...and then bitched when a FAB PART didn't fit. :looser:

I don't want 'em...so YOU send them back. :rattle:
