bobnoxious said:I know. But, it's one thing to "hog out" a $25 set of weld on spring pads to fit. Totally another to have to "hog out" a set of $130-140 set of "super duper wham-a-dyne" pads that are supposed to fit your application:dunno:

LilRedRover said:I don't think I've recieved a part yet that I didn't have to modify slightly... in manufacturing, both on jeeps end and any aftermarket end, it is 100% impossible to make everything exactly to spec every single time. If you have something off a fraction of an inch, it can throw something off more and so on and so forth. I agree with some about if the part is completely off, it's your money, but it doesn't look like this perch is off that bad. I've made worse work. Just my .02
bobnoxious said:Well, if you're Ok with spending $140 on spring pads, and then have to grind them just to make them square with the axle tube, then more power to you. I know I have to modify crap every day here at the shop to make it fit...I expect it of the inexpensive stuff. I do not expect it (but unfortunately often see it) of the expensive stuff.
S'all good
ECKSJAY said:We do it all the time with 'bolt on' $6000 Tera axles even. The point has already been brought up that if it wasn't built on your Jeep, it'll likely take a little modifying to fit. What's so fawking hard to understand about that? $140 is nothing to some people, so your cost comparison is irrelevant. Who says the axle tube in question is even square? We've got one guy's word for it and a crappy picture to go along with it. :bunny:
I guess that's what I was getting to. It'd just take a couple minutes to adjust them and you're back in action.ECKSJAY said:x2
There are a lot of Holiday Inn engineers out there who think their junk should fit exactly right the first time without modification. For all the energy used ranting and bitching they could have EASILY modified the part to fit.

Grab that grinder and massage it real quick. You'll be back on the trail in a matter of a couple hours.
"Holiday Inn Engineers"... that's great. I'm going to have to remember that one.[/formatt]

Hell, that wouldn't even be acceptable at URF Racing.
Chris85xj said:Tell you what ECKSJAY, If you don't see what the big deal is about buying a set of perches and their not right for 140.00. Why don't you buy these from me, Your blind if you look at that picture and say the problem is minor,Iv'e had no less that 6 people look at these here at my house sitting on the tube, which by the way is not bent, and tell me their way off,
AS FOR Holiday Inn engineers ,exactly where did you get your degree,I have a real one hanging in my office above my desk, You don't know me so quit making statements like that.
