Any thoughts on a Christmas get-together?

The Lonestar Steakhouse in Fort Union has their private party room booked every night for the first two weeks of December according to the person I talked to. However, the manager took the reservation book home so she could not double-check. They are supposed to call me Thursday after 9:00 AM to confirm that they are booked on December 7th. Should I check with Fortune Cuisine (Chinese)?

Does this have to be a place that takes reservations?
Or could we hit up the new Moochies in midvale and just sorta take over their dining room? lol

With it being so hard to figure out how many is coming we really don't know what kind of reservation we will need any way.

What about upChuck a Rama or Golden Corral? Buffet anyone?
Take over a corner of Sweet Tomatoes?

I will try to make a few phone calls tonight to said places. Hope to get off work on time today.

Would Sweet Tomatoes or Golden Corral let us reserve a room? The nice thing about a buffet is the variety which may bring more people out.

I reserved a room for one of our meet n greets at golden corral it was free.

So the Golden Corral rooms are reserved on Fri and sat throughout Dec. Not surprising but, if we need to, we can call ahead of time and get tables put together for our group.

Moochies. They are willing to reserve the lobby for us on that day. There was no mention of price for reservations. They close at 8:30pm. I told him that we would likely gather around 4.

I personally think Moochies would be great, but there is no buffet. This is there new location in Midvale.

I think at this point you might as well call it a meet and greet. People are dropping out, locations for a big group are hard to find and the response in the thread asking who's going has been lack luster at best.

Call it a Christmas meet and greet, have it wherever and next year line something up in June.

In years past we had a Santa there (Josh) who handed out gifts for the kiddies, we have done white elephant gifts and generally had a lot bigger turn outs than the average M&G. Think summer BBQ In cold weather.

It also feels different when you have it in your own little private room.

I think it was just brought up too late. No biggie.

I think it should still be called a party in spirit.
Moochies offered their lobby to us from 4 to close. They will only do take out unless the order is with our group. Santa would be awesome but I don't its clausable<---see what I did there? I don't see why we can't do a white elephant exchange either, even if its in the middle of golden corral.
I am just trying to be positive here and I don't think we should downgrade anything. Its high time this chapter started acting like a chapter. And yes I know that I personally have not been very active. I created the thread as soon as it was talked about so that we could all put it on our calendars and make plans. No matter what we call it, we will have cancelations and more that show up who didn't say that they were.

He didn't say that there was a charge. If that is what we decide I will know for sure. I would imagine that there is no charge. He sorta sounded like its the slow time of the day.

I think Moochies is the winner.
Isreal?

As soon as I know I will make the call and have the lobby reserved.

Ok, called and they instructed me to send an email to the owner to make sure everything is taken care of properly. As soon as I hear back I will post in the public thread. And likely modify the title of the thread.

I have no idea how or where or what a white elephant exchange is... If someone could come up with that phase of this shindig I know I would appreciate it. Or any other ideas, and if I can help I will.
