Any snow runs for Sierrs Chapter in DEC/JAN

I'm up for something in those months. I like the Bowman Lake/Malokoff Diggins trail around Nevada City, CA for snow runs, but am open to other trails that people could suggest. I know that I have only been able to make it all the way to Bowman Lake once when we had an official run to the lake, when I went later/early in the year, the snow was to deep to get but just a 1/4 miles past Graniteville (little outpost village) before going over the creek bridge.

I know I'll be up on the Bald Mtn trail. Tons of powder to play in. We also have a decent Ski Slope, Sierra Summit. Cabins can be rented so that you can make the most out of the weekend.

Exact dates are still up in the air for me at the moment. My new house is scheduled to be done on the 15 Dec, so I'll be moving soon after, if the date doesn't change again. :banghead:

They leave the Bald Mtn trail open year round? Does it get alot of snow? Man that would be fun. I did that in my Dodge Ram this summer and had a blast.

Yup open all year round, but after a good snow fall you only make it to the trailhead. Just remember to bring a set of chains, at the top of the 4 lane they check to see if you have them, but of course you have M&S tires and 4WD so you don't have to put them on.


Actually I headed to Bald this Saturday, so far my Brother-in-law and Fresno_jeeper.
