You broke two on my old rig....LOL. Dang dude, you must wheel a lot harder than me. Did you break both sides, or just the passenger twice. I couldn't imagine the short shaft breaking very easily on the driver side. How did you break em. Bouncing the front???

well i did break the short side twice, and well the first time the front end may have jumped off the ground and i snapped it when i remet the earth. the second one may have been a fluke i was jockying around a ravine that was very tight, and trying to back up on an angle. but now i'm out of spares:eyes: so i better be carefull!

Welcome to the site Mike, well there are a few of us diehard XJ wheelers in MI. I am in Standish which is in Northeast MI. Our XJ may not be the biggest. But I have spent some quality time building it from the ground up & it works for me. There are a lot of parts available & if you know how much off road time verses daily driving your going to do, that will help guide you thru your build up. I went for good off road performance with some daily driving mannors that allows me to use it year around in mud, snow, on trails or off. I also spend a lot of time in the UP around Newberry & in Copper Harbor. There are some great trails up in the Copper Harbor area, lots of hills & slopes. Its alot of fun & even my wife said that the XJ smiles when the snow is near bumper high. Every ones idea is a little different. We had a 66 Scout back in the 70's that was 427 cid powered. It was great to flex all that horse power at the 100 yard dash in the sand drags. But it had no street mannors & had to be trailered every where. My wife & I have owned many since & most were Jeeps. So welcome "its a Jeep thing" & as you know most don't understand. We smile & shake our heads at them..
 
dont know about you suckas, but i see lifted xjs all over sterling heights, warren and the D. i was at mumblys the other day and drooled all over the three lifted xjs out front. put my crap to shame. hope to post some pics soon
 
I'm in Benton Harbor. I frequently Am In Kalamazoo, and sometimes Holland. Wanna see a really sad picture of an XJ?

3 main reasons why it is sad. But I will let you figure it out.
