Since we primarily build XJ parts, it was time for my wife to own a nicer XJ than her 94.

So I bought this...

Jeep has 235,000 miles on it, and it really only shows in the driveline via some light valve tapping. Had a rusty rear driver corner from a poor accident repair, dented front passanger fender, cracked windshield, some various other rust spots, needed brakes, ball joints, and u-joints.

Brian built the bumpers, I did much of the body work and sprayed the armor, bumpers, steering, shocks, and small paint fixes. The neighbors at Autobody USA sprayed most of the driver side and the mismatched replacement flares for me. Took a ton of time because I don't know what I'm doing, but I wound up with a completely rust free XJ, so it was worth it. The underside looked great, so I cleaned it up and sprayed the whole chassis with some nasty undercoating that probably still isn't dry.

Suspension is 3" BDS with full rear packs, front has a .75 spacer to level it out. Shocks are color matched Bilstein 5100's. Knuckles and brakes are from a WJ, steering and trackbar is JCR.

It's got a loud rear wheel bearing and needs rear brakes, so instead of spending $75 on a D35, I'll probably swap an 8.8. I have plans in my head for a JCR XJ front 4 long arm, so I'm sure it will be the test mule for that. Stage 1 sliders when I get bored, maybe a roof rack if I get really bored.

Short of that it's ready for the Mall parking lot and camping next year.

Very cleanly done, I like it!

WJ knuckles? Not going to go OTK? Not that the angles are bad.

The angles at 3" are great. The tie rod would certainly benefit from being on top of the knuckles for clearance, and at some point I still may... but that requires flip inserts, (they are stock taper TRE's), and moving sway bar end links and such. So at this point the time/benefit isn't there for the trails this Jeep will see in Michigan.

Nice XJ, but not a huge fan of those ugly rims on such a nice jeep.

That is one clean XJ, nice work.

Yep, that's the Amber specail! She had the same front bumper on her old jeep. I have only done this style of lights 3 times. We could make it an option if people wanted it like that.

That would be a cool option but i already have an ARB bumper so it wouldn't help me out any. I got it.......... rock lights recessed into sliders that'd be cool( patent pending)! :D
