Alloy USA ball joints -WTF?!

I have some old synergy joints in mountain view. They are my spares so I need them back, but come try them out.

once you go knurled you never go back...

synergy + green loctite is going to be your best bet.

I just went with moog problem solvers + green loctite in my hp44- the synergy opened up the hole in the C just a bit.

Synergy are knurled and a hair bigger . My spicers were sliding right in.

Synergy discontinued the older dana 44 ball joints so no choice there.

They really need a disclaimer perhaps before you buy them. Since its not total obvious until you remove them for new ones.

I am very much appreciating this discussion.

I would not have considered these particular ramifications.

Yes these companies should make people aware of this stuff. Synergy does not have any in stock, but found vendor who had some. Should see them saturday I hope.
I am gonna test fit some synergy ones from Cal tonight I hope just so I know
What to expect when I get mine. I did purchase loctite 680 retaining compound so I will be ready if needed.

Test fit, borrowed synergy ball joint didnt just fall in the hole, gonna be tight. So crazy that the spicer one slides right in.Me so Happy! Now I know when the New ball joints arrive i will be good to go!

thats exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago. If I would have known they would die in 6 months and open up the C I would have went spicer from the start. Pretty sure I can get 6 months out of spicers too. Thankfully MOOG still makes a problem solver for the HP44.

Glad you got it all figured out, I had the same issue a while back.

I don't remember what brand I used that stretched out my Ball joint holes but when I went back to spicers they were too loose. When I googled it I found 2 options that sounded good. One was to weld a tack inside the hole and grind it down so the bj will slide in tightly. We went the other route and used cold chisels to make vertical grooves causing the metal in between them to mushroom out a bit.

With two different sized chisels we got it the best we could from the top and bottom. We needed the press to get them back in and they have held great. I also did it on my nephews pickup truck that kept having the ball joints come loose on it too. He later told me they had been repeatedly jumping it really high on some backroad, Smh.

It has worked well for us ymmv.

Stop scarying me about aftermarket joints. Synergy are knurled and I need that to fit the hole. Usps should drop off saturday I hope. Want my good handling jeep back!

I have had amazing luck with the synergy joints.

Don't let them scare you.

So these look interesting.

I may look at these next time around. Don't currently have a WJ/JK config, but I talked to the guy yesterday and he's ready to start making them.

Those are pretty neat! I'd give em a shot!

Those ball joints do look pretty interesting. I got my synergy ball joints installed. They fit nice and tight in the axle and have no more play. Now lets see how long they last! Thanks for all the input guys!
