All Things Guns

I paid $60 for 500+ rds of tumbled .40S&W brass and $30 for 100rds of deprimed, trimmed, deburred and tumbled .223 brass. Buying new brass at say Gander Mtn or something of the like, you're looking at somewhere around $40/100 for pistol brass. For the 9mm, I'd say you'd be good at $10-15/hundred. Idk what .357 brass is going for, but I'm sure it would be comparable. If it's free for you, hell it's all profit!

It is my own brass from rounds I bought. If I don't reload myself, I will try to make a deal with a reloader for loaded rounds in return for brass.

I'm doing something similar with my buddies. I told them that if they save and give me their brass I will reload it for them at cost. Once I get reloading that is... Still, I'm stocking up on stuff when I get the chance or have the cash to get it.

My buddy down in Texas got me a deal on a very clean 1943 Garand. With ffl fees its will be less then a one week paycheck :)

What manufacturer?? There were a number of them. An International Harvester is worth alot more than say a Springfield or Winchester.

What it looked like before with the youth model stock. This was after I switched to the bigger scope.

What it looks like now with the newtome varmint stock.

Badger Ordnance tactical bolt knob.

BDL conversion. It's sweet to drop the rounds right out of the bottom instead of running the action 4 more times.

Full float barrel. Love this!

So what we have here is a Remington 700 BDL, .243, 20" bbl, 4-16x44 cheapy scope, cheap bipod, BO bolt knob and a Browning sling. The stock has 2 forward swivel studs for both the bipod and the sling. She shot pretty good groups before it was full floated, I'm eager to see how it goes now. I plan on swapping back to a 3-9 power scope and maybe pillar bedding. Then it will be done. All the intimate care and money will go to the 300 Win Mag when/if I ever get one.

That would be awesome! I'd love to get some long range time. I hit a shot out at FestFest at an estimated 200yds on some tannerite. That's the only shot I've taken further than 100yds with anything. It just doesn't need to happen that often. Especially where I've hunted.

Sissy, shoulda spent some time in the Army where you have to hit a 400 meter target with a M16.

coke cans at 400 yards is gratifying.

My dad was a Marine. If I joined any armed services other than the Marines, he probably would have beat me with a rubber hose.

Shooting anything with precision at that great a distance would be gratifying.

He threatened to many times...I was just too fast.

So those who are in the know about the Illinois CCW law. What is really going on other than a bunch of showboating by the Chicago LIBS. I just read this.

JUST IN FROM DC: U.S. Supreme Court grants Illinois' attorney general more time to decide whether to appeal conceal/carry.
Attorney General Lisa Madigan now has until June 24 to appeal. The 7th Circuit Appeals found Illinois' prohibition on the carrying of concealed firearms unconstitutional in December. It ordered lawmakers to pass legislation to legalize concealed carry by June 9.
The 30-day extension granted by the court Friday does not affect that deadline.

I understand she has an extra 30 day but it says they still have to have a law passed by June 9th. I have read that if they kep playing games and do not pass a law by June 9th that all FOID card holders will automaticly be granted conceal carry... true? sort of ture? thought?

Ram" I really hate this state and all the games" Rod

That statement combines two different things.

The original suit filed by the AG has been given an extension to file the appeal.

But... the Appellate Court decision remains in effect, unless the SC issues a stay and agrees to hear the case.

So... the Chicago-tard legislature in Springfield still only has until midnight June 9th to enact a working law. At 12:01 June 10th, unless a stay is in effect or a law is in effect, all FOID card holders that can legally own handguns(Over 21) are able to CCW.

We could end up with a situation where we get CCW on June 10th, but lose it somewhere in those two weeks as a stay gets issued as the SC agrees to hear the case.

Governor Goofball wants the local 'home rule' option. Because it would create such headache for CCWs that it would be a defacto ban. The western and southern counties would mostly allow CCWs, while the metro counties might or might not.

Thanks for the reply. That is how i understood the games going on also. I did read that some people doubt Lisa Mattigan will take it to the SC as if she does and she loses she will be the one know to basicly shut down the anti gun debate and we know she would hate to be that person.

 Here's to hoping all this goes as smooth as possibly for you guys.

Spent some intimate time with the .40 last night. Polished up the trigger. The biggest complaint people have about the Sigma is the trigger is grainy and too heavy. I've effectively fixed those issues. I removed one of the springs a while back and that lightened up the pull but the polishing I did last night that made it smooth as glass with a crisp break.

I've had this thing for over 6 years and I finally got into making it better than factory a few months ago. With the better trigger and the Hogue slip on grip, this thing feels like it would have cost me a lot more than it did.

Here's the little LCP with the LaserLyte sight. It works.

Here's the .177 that Harrison will learn how to shoot on. It's a Hornet that's made by Gamo. IIRC the scope is a 4x that came with it. It doesn't have enough adjustment for the gun. Or the lead ammo I'm using is that much slower that it drops that much faster. Idk.

Then there's the work in progress...Waiting forever on parts. This is the poly lower and the hand guard is just barely sitting on there since there's no gas block and ring to keep it on solid.

And the flash hider... If it doesn't suppress flash at all, at least it will skull **** a Zombie if necessary.

I think I'm going to pick one of these up in the next couple of weeks.

I'm also looking for a .357/.38 revolver. Mom wants one, so she can get her CCW when it passes.

JIM.

It's perfect for what it's meant for. Easy concealment and it goes boom when you ask it to. It is not a perfect gun, just perfect in the intended application.

If I could change my mind when I bought it, would I do it different? I don't know for sure, but I would have considered the LC9.

S&W makes a sweet revolver in the j-frame. I'm not versed on what calibers are available. The hammer is inside the frame and isn't exposed to catch on clothing. Excellent design. Reliable too.

i like the looks of a ruger sp101 for a small frame 357. i want one.

Yeah, buddy!! Ruger makes some quality firearms.
