yeah, a guy sent me the url to their web page. they've got some pretty impressive stuff. but it seems like auto manufactureres don't want to sell what it's customers want i would love to own one...if i could afford one
Crew cabs have four doors, don't they? Anyway, looks? not so much. Nice trailer welded on the back tho.
Jeeps have an esthestic look all there own, and this does a good job in the style, but makes major mistakes in body lines. The break over the back tires doesn't work, it implies "add-on" and "weak structure." A short bed 4 seater should have a tire location entirely in the bed, flares and all. Adding two more doors would conceal this "mistake" a lot.
The top of the bed line doesn't match the body - this is a fault of the drop down door, and AEV wanted capacity, don't really blame them. If these were kitchen cabinets you'd sue the installer.
well.. this thing is terrible.... (IMHO). I have been to quite a few focus test thingies where I get to check out the prototypes and comment on them, and I have seen about 1.5 years ago the new scrambler There are two versions of it:
1. 2 door with a longish type bed (kind of like original brute, minus the lift) and a removeable hard top covering the two front seats
2. 2 door with space for 4 and either a soft or hard top to go over all that.
I liked the latter one, as you still had some room behind the rear bench to throw stuff in (in a TJ, there is NO room behind the rear bench to put much of anything).....
Anyways, last time I heard, they are on the books to be released either by next (as in this comming) summer or fall.....
That rear bed kinda reminds me of one of those extra carry boxes that plugs into the hitch. But lop the bed off, bob the frame and move the tail lights to the body, , , hmmmm. . .
