Advice from the guys...

my bday is coming up.. june 19.. so im going to buy a lift..
heres what im considering..
- i know its naxja and you re probably going to suggest the xj vs tj but just ignore the fact that you are on Naxja.lol

The Rubi.. i m wanting to do a RC Long Arm upgrade : $899
+ a 1.75" spring spacer $80
+ shipping ... not sure how much...
or

XJ 4.5 RC short arm with full spring pack for $799
+ Nitro shock upgrade $25
+ plus shipping .. not sure how much.

If i do the xj.. do i need the SYE? or will the xfer case drop be sufficient.
If i do the Rubi.. the long arms are adjustable for the extra lift im adding.
The rubi has worn out heims right now.. plus it has a worn out Drive shaft as welll. so i may have to get a "woody" DS... ($299)

Should i go all out and fix up the rubi to be the ultimate crawlers
or start on AVON's upgrades..

I ll eventually do everything for both jeeps.. i just need advice as which one gets money spent..:laugh2:

So it sounds as if you need to flip a coin. LOL!

As far as the SYE on the XJ it depends, I'd guess you will at 4.5" even with the TC drop. Usually around 3.5" is where the vibs start to happen.

Warning, the RC is called "rough" for a reason...just an fyi. It took me 3 sets of shocks (finally got BDS and love them) for it to be a reasonable street ride, in my opinion.

...I'm no help on which jeep, but if the xj wins, you'll wanna go ahead with the sye... then you can have a common spare for front and rear...

RC seems to have up'd their game from the late 90's..
Thier Long arms are really nice..
I read the testing process they took thier LA kit through on jeep forum..it was impressive..
As for XJ springs.. i know they re rough but if i wanted a caddy i wouldnt have an XJ..

I honestly vote to give the xj an upgrade. If I had both and had the option the XJ would be the first to get done because its a beater wheel the crap out of it and keep that rubi looking cherry. Just what I would do if i had both. That rubi would become a mall crawler until the XJ was destroyed, then it would only be a temporary wheeler till I got another XJ.

I ve banged up both.. i had the rubi since 2005.. wheeled it every month at least for 5 years.. and still wheel it..
the xj is a year old.. i cut the fenders and slapped 34" ltb's on it.. and wheeled it harder then the rubi..
Neither jeeps will ever be mall crawlers..
