? about the 8.25

Anyone know what a tag with 0470 stamped into it means on a 8.25? The tag is held onto the diff cover with one of the bolts. This is on a 2000 XJ. Thanks!

Does your XJ have an automatic ? Is there a paper strip around the axle tube on the drivers side. It would tell you what the gear ratio is and whether you have a TracLoc limited slip or open carrier. Automatics have 3.55's and manual transmissions have 3.07's from the factory.

Yes, it's an automatic w/ 3.55's. It does not have a TracLoc lsd.
