I have a '96 XJ, only a mild 3.5 lift on it but when I put it up in the air to work on it the rear brake line is stretched and about to snap.
Does anyone know if there is a direct bolt in from another vehicle that I can buy at like O'reilly or something to replace and extend it?

Thanks for any help guys.

92-96 Dakota rear brake line is plenty long for a 3.5" lift

The Dakota is plenty long, a direct bolt in and could probably get it for like $16?

same with a YJ (95 and down wrangler), bolt in as well. I think the YJ line is an inch or so shorter though, but plenty long enough for 4 inches of lift.

cool, yeah Im looking online the dakota line is $26, the YJ line is $16. thanks again, hey Grimm, let me know how you want me to get those parts to you. we can figure something out.

use 2 yj passenger side cables

I was looking at Rockauto's website. They show the XJ parking brake cable at 53" long, and the YJ passenger side as 71" long. 18" of extra length seems a bit much. Though I suppose you can just route it such that it takes up the extra length.

I did notice mine are tight at full drop. Plus, my half-ass retention spring to keep it off the exhaust pipe didn't. So, I may be replacing them shortly.

I never had a problem with my brake cables being too short other than when I first installed My rear FSJ dana 44. The stock FSJ e cables were way short so I used 8.25 e brake cables and voila!

Nice thing about this is you can service the parts quite nicely. If you ever need a spare the line would only cost you 13 bucks.

YOu can do this for the front too using the same adapter and getting the banjo bolt for the calipers.
