About a dana 35

If i can't find the lettering on a dana 35 is there a year/cut off for dana with c-clip or non c-clip? i'm getting rid of my stock 30/35 and someone needs to know if my 35 is c-clip or not. Did 90's have them or possibly have them? thanks you for your help.

Non C-clip Dana 35's were used from 90-01.

Easiest way to tell if it is a C clip axle is to pull the drum off, and see if it has the 4(or was it 3?) bolts holding in the bearing.

You have it backwards. They switch TO c-clips in 1990. Prior to that they were non-clips.

Given that 1990 was the changeover year, best way to check is to pull the drum as CanMan mentioned. The non-clip axle shaft will also have a hole in the bolt face so you can stick a socket in to unbolt the retainer plate. A c-clip axle will also have some in-out play of the wheel.
