Abandoned vehicle lien in CA.

So lets say somone left a car on your property, for about 4 months, and shows no interest in the car and basically just left it there for good. Iv hurd about the Abandoned vehicle lien witch is an option for me, But iv also read its pretty hard to do in CA. My question is, Has anyone here done this in CA?? Id like to get my own title for the car and then just junk it. Anybody have advise? Thanks in advance.

Go to the DMV and file the lien paperwork. The DMV will send a notice to the last known registered owner, if they don't respond within a certain amount of time, the DMV will issue a new title with your name.

My work has had to file a mechanics lein to obtaine a vehicle that a customer could not pay for. Simple but a bit of paperwork involved.

X2 on that, you also will have to file it in a paper, from what i gathered when i was going to do it to a vehicle.

Push it into the street and let the fuzz tow it away :D

I'm dealing with this right now also. Anybody want a free 1995 Chevy 2500 pickup? Its got a work rack on it. Free sleeping bag inside.

PM me if you really want it. I have the lien paperwork back from the DMV but I dont have time to deal with a lein sale. Its way more complicated than made out to be above.

i have done a lein sale and its pretty easy. i didn't want to do all of the paperwork so i went to a buisness that does that. i paid $30 and it took about 30 days. good luck. if you get in the victor valley area shoot me a pm and i will give you the info of the place i went to

We have a guy here in town that does DMV work. He does everything for $50, plus DMV fees. Not a bad deal t all if you don't have the time to deal with it. We've used him a half dozen times or so.
