a new mod for my xj

distributor is in the back of the engine
the carb is a ford 2100 series
still dont know what engine though
i saw that morris already
i cant afford 410$ + shipping on springs right now though
i found some early springs on clist for 50$
thinking about making a bastard pack in the rear

I will have to wait until I get home to see the pics but if it is half as cool as this willys I can't wait to see it!

I took a closer look at the photos. The Buick 225 had the distributor in the front and the valve covers were more rectangular.

yah we are going to go to home depot and buy more grey and black outdoor carpeting to make the front match the back and get rid of the green indoor carpet.
it definetly has character tho.
im just stoked that it runs so good.

That thing will clean up nice!!:yap:

Some cheap seat covers, spray paint, and a wash and it will be good to go..

yah its a ford motor for sure, its a motorcraft carb, with ford logos all over the engine.
also, from all of my research, according to the placement of the oil filter and dizzy its a 55-77 ford 2.8 v6 with the two barrel carb.
according to the carb on it, the carb was only used for 2 years on those engines supposedly from looking up the carb rebuild kit on a few different carb only sites. yah we are gonna do seat covers, my dad has a professional car paint sprayer, so we are going to do our own paint job. also a rear rack and jerry can holders , probably new leaves and shocks, radio, center console, and extend the cage over the rear seat

they are all saggy and soft and crap.
im worried about breaking a leaf.
we dont want to do a soa tho. we want to keep it cheap and simple. we might never even replace the springs

yah im scratching the MJ idea now.
if i buy another vehicle after this it will be another willys.
then ill have 3 jeeps!

so swapped in a new master from a 74 ford 1/2 ton pickup into the willys, and bled the heck outta the system, started adding small things like rear view mirrors and new shocks.
fixed the no brake light issue on the xj from after the wj booster/mc swap, had to throw a small piece of sheetmetal between the switch and the booster rod and tinker with it a bit to make it so the lights come on and off a the right times. also finished cutting off the lca mounts, and bolting up long arms, need to trim a little closer to the inside of the frame rails other than that long arms are on...
