A/F Ratio Gauge for STOCK Renix O2 Sensor

The Renix era Jeep XJ's use a Titania type of O2 Sensor.It varies the voltage through resistance like a Temp sensor from 0 to 5 volts.A wide band is totally different BUT the voltage it produces through the PCM is 0-5 volts.The gauge I listed has 2 settings,a 5 volt and a 0-1 volt.The 5 volt setting is used in conjunction with the wideband type of PCM AND has a switch for use with a Zirconia -mostly used- which is 0 to 1 volt.It works with the stock Renix Titania type of sensor in this way due to the Titania sensor sends a 0-5 volt signal to the stock ECM.I do have a 88 XJ that uses the Renix system.It works perfectly!!!

It shows 1 volt in the Titania type but should be 5 volts fed to the sensor,a typo on that page.

On a Renix side note as to when it goes into closed loop.It will go into closed loop mode within 1 minute of a cold start.Sooner when it is warm outside.Verified through my Snap-On MT2500 scanner....Mystery solved!!! Theory busted about engine coolant temp.

True story. Seen it on the DRB myself numerous times.

Hey i just got my stroker done and want to hook up that air fuel gauge. Just came in the mail today. Can you give me some tips on hooking it up? i have a 89 cherokee...live in mooresville

I don't know where the coolant temp myth of closed loop came from. Every Jeep I have data logged has gone into closed loop as soon as the O2 sensor has came up to temp. However, they still operate in a heat up mode in closed loop until the coolant is hot.

Yup. O2 sensor up to temp= closed loop. Coolant temp is not a big player here.

I am located in Mooresville now.I can just about see the Stacks at the Marshall Steam Station by Lake Norma on 150.Anyways it is quite simple.Did you get any brackets to install it?.There should be a switch on the back of the gauge,set it to 5 volts or wideband.I have mine on the drivers side pillar next to the sun visor about eye level.Below is a link to the bracket I used .Just stuck it to the pillar.
