A couple q's poor mans locker

Don't know if this is the right spot for this but oh well...

I was just wondering if anyone had a poor mans locker (welded diff) in the front, if so how does it work out for you and how long till I break somthing if i do it?

Also I was wondering whats the biggest tire I can run on 3" of lift?

Just try to do a little searching before you ask. If you search and dont come up with a answer (highly unlikely) then ask away. But I bet the question you asked has been asked 100 times over.......

in the last two weeks, there is a threwad on here on page two on this very subject.

but to answer your Q; if you dont have a disco axle you will have a bitch of a time turning if you weld the front. get a lunch box locher for the front and if you need to weld something weld the rear. but the general consencus is dont weld the difs at all and definately not the front. any time you weld a dif its now will it break it is when; and no one can say for sure, ( BIG DEBATES OVER THIS ONE )that depends on your driving style and the quality of the welds.
