I have a 99 xj and I am intersted in putting an amp in the jeep.
I currently have an orion xtr 475 is huge and will never fit under the rear seat. I dont want to put it in the cargo area.

what amps are people putting under the rear seat ( on the driver side)?
I am thinking about a 4 channel 37 - 75 watts per.

pics please

I expect to cut some vent holes and fans if necessary.

I put a 2x100 under my front passanger seat. It fits nice and leaves me room for tools under the rear seats. I have a custom sub box in the rear cubby with two 8" subs running isobearik. I think that's how it's spelled. You can always build a rack that slides under a platform for the rear cargo area.

how much difference is there between 96 and 99 ?
amps on both sides under the rear seat of my 96 ,
they are about 200 watt each , both 2 channel .
with fans , they get a little toasty on a long drive but dont shut down .
had to move my sub amp , because it would overheat .

let me see if i can get some pictures for u when i get home tonight.

actually raised platform in the cargo area is my second option.
if I do that I will put my other amp there as well. and amybe my sub in teh floor.

I think that the jack sits on teh passenger side.

I've put a few under that back seat on 99+ grand cherokees. last time I looked at my wifes XJ there wasn't much room for an amp. When and if I do a system in hers, I think I will make a custom rack that goes around the spare tire.

2 Alpine 60W. One on each side. Throw the jack in the back.

I've got an Orion CS 200 (50watts x 4 passenger side ),an Orion CS 150 (150 watts x2 driver side), an Audiocontrol EQX competition EQ(driver side) and 4 x-overs under my rear seat.

this is great.
thanks guys.
I am going to try and fit my 475 under the seat. I may need to bash the tunnel with a a big fuvking hammer the problem withthis amp is the length. If I cant get it to fit I may try and fab somthng up near the spare tire. and just put the sub amp und the rear seat. it s bit smaller
