98XJ: Project Salsa

got ya i figured you did research for the best price. my durango box is terrible and i need another option

it was like 1200 for everything shipped to my door direct from PSC. i didnt research anything, i called PSC and told them what i was looking for. probably could have saved a few bucks if i went through a vendor.

I hate how clean your jeep is :finger:
I give you mad props

Whammy. Gonna make the lines one day after work. Gotta shorten my dragline and get a new TRE at the pitman arm is shot.

Those are the ones you'd use on a regular tie rod.

The high-misalignment ones have a much longer shank:

they're used on the crappy foot-long push-pull drag link on leaf sprung Chevys.

If you're shortening the drag link anyway, shorten it even more and use the right ends on it. Those ones lasted me over 5 years and they were the low-end brand from Napa.

what chris said. The tre's you have are what goes from knuckle to knuckle on those trucks

hooked up my lines, im still too poor to afford new TREs yet.

assist feels great on the road, at idle/low rpm i dont feel much of a difference... might wanna go to a smaller pulley. but i wont know for sure til i get on the trail.

sweet setup my thoughts would be that you might be running at slightly higher RPMs on the trail while in lowrange where you will really feel the difference. Ive been thinking about the pully upgrade from psc.

Thanks dude. I ended up getting the right TREs a few weeks ago and it made a huge difference. I've been doing a few things and will have to update this thread this week.

so a bunch of stuff has happened. i didnt go to wheel that much this summer but i did get out on the beach a few times and went upstate to my friend's house twice. truck drive down the road awesome. i'm finally happy with it on the highway and around town. of course i smashed the inner axle seal one of the times i pulled the long side shaft up front so i need to fix that one day too... but for right now whatever. i have outer seals on it.

bought a dirtbound offroad rear DIY bumper kit. they lost my order and it took forever to get but otherwise its real nice. put on some shackle relocation brackets at the same time to get the shackle angle as good as possible and get some more lift out back.

also, my exhaust header was leaking bc it was cracked, and obv the motor mounts were going bad, so why not rip it all off?

so i started putting these in. got a driver's side bracket from chris (vetteboy), brown dog poly mounts from some kid on a local board that were used only 3k miles, and then i bought a new brown dog passenger side bracket kit.

i have a "apn" header going in that i got from ebay, a 99 intake, 703 injectors, and i had to do the valve cover gasket bc it was leaking pretty bad. all that is going in slowly after work during the week and the front tube stuff will be going in this weekend. also have rear bumps and limit straps to go in. theres a truck/jeep show by me on the 6th that me and my buddies are going to with our newly built rigs and then i'll be up in NH on the 18th for rocktoberfest!
