Stopped bc I'm doing dinner w pops for his bday. Hopefully I drive it home tomorrow night

Who makes those red bumps you're running and where did you get them?

i got them from amazon but im pretty sure they shipped from jegs.

took her up to 100 on the speedo this morning on the highway going to work, probably about 85 actual. feels great, still have some kinks to slowly work out though.

theres a harmonic wobble ~60, prob the tires but it feels worse bc i reamed the pitman arm a tad too much, and the alignment is way off. gotta ream the tie rod of the knuckles a tiny bit too, bc the chevy tres dont go as far in as id like. that and i want to try and get the shocks in by the end of the week as well.

The awesome thing about harmonic wobbles is that they go away once you get going a bit faster :music:

My driveshaft vibes in the dirty POS are HORRIBLE up till about 95 then they disappear completely.

so a lot of nothing has happened.

i fixed my steering links, got the craziest death wobble evar, pulled an upper ball joint out of the knuckle. limped it to work, limped it home. ended up ruining the custom-machined passenger side knuckle. the original cause was the pitman arm being reamed out too much, so i tried to get that off and throw another one on there, but ended up breaking a snap-on pitman arm puller in the process. when i called my boss the day of the ball joint fiasco and said i was going to be late (3rd time in 2 weeks bc of the jeep) he let me know that this couldnt happen again. so once again being being vehicle-less, i bummed rides from my buddy who works close by.

after a few weeks of crying and bitching and trying to sell the damn thing, i'm keeping it.. but i took it off the road and it's going in the corner until next wheeling season. i sold the wheels and tires to my buddy for his cummins, and its currently sitting on rollers. plans over the winter to:

buy a NEW knuckle from parts mike, with both ball joints already pressed in
send back my 2.5 9100s to bilstein to get 'rebuilt' with a piggyback resi
swap the JKS .75" shackle for the RE 1.5" i have
finish up the cage, rear shock bar, etc

when the spring comes around i'm gonna get myself a nice set of wheels and tires. still not sure on 35s/37s yet. my tax return should be pretty legit this year so that will to that. in the meantime, i picked myself up a DD:

2012 vw golf 5spd. leased it, this way i cant mod it, and any and every problem will be taken care of for free under warranty. plus it gets 30+ mpg highway and is comfy and fun to drive.

STAY TUNED FOR MORE SLOW UPDATES!

Glad to hear you're keeping everything though and not bitching out.

Don't wait until the wheeling season to get working on it. Why wait?

im not gonna do much for a while. honestly, i dont even feel like looking at it for a few weeks. i have no problem doing stuff in the cold, nothing i have to do is too messy except the ball joints, but i've gotten pretty good/fast at stripping down the outers on this thing. i'll start it back up when i have to put coveralls on to work on it :shiver:
