98XJ: Project Salsa

got (almost) all of my parts, painting the rims and (hopefully) charging the shocks tomorrow after work. brakes are on the 60.. waggy calipers loaded with impala SS pads. after work friday im pulling the jeep in and whipping out the plasma torch... everything is getting cut out/off.. leafs, control arms, control arm mounts... then the body gets cleaned up and the front and rear stiffys get welded on. with a few guys working on it i'm planning on driving it sunday night... as long as the weather cooperates.

drill a small hole in the cup and spray a can of pb blaster in there

if that doesnt work. drill the hole bigger and put a torch in there

take a welder and run a bead on the end of it. not worried so much about filling as you are just heating up the bolt. The extreme heat tends to break the rust on the inside.
HTH

I used the oxy acy torch.. cherry red= easy out. The pass side was a lot easier. Now to clean the rear rails for stiffys

Torch = problem solver

Lookin' like the start of progress :thumbup:
