So my boss has a 1998 2wd XJ with the inline 6, he over heated it and blew up the radiator and possibly cracked the head. He's giving me the option to take whatever parts I want off it for a small fee. (I expect this to be very reasonable). My plan is to take everything out of the interior so I can swap it into my 96 4wd. and obviously im taking the alternator and starter to keep as spares but im not sure what all else is worth taking. any suggestions? Also, if anyone is looking to get something out of it PM me and let me know what you want and what your willing to offer. His jeep is bone stock and has over 230K miles and mine is just under with a 2" budget boost and a few bolt on engine mods. considering taking the AW4 and rebuilding a solid 4wd tranny if I can find a donor 4wd to steel the output shaft. (take the best parts from both and build one good 4wd on my own time). basically Im looking for input from anyone who's swapped parts between the two generations, also looking to see if anyone needs anything before this thing goes to the scrap heap.

i want the front clip and doors, if its a 4dr. and the 2wd beam.

if it were a 99+ the intake manifold is better, but its not. hatch, tail lights, doors, basically anything that is "cosmetic" people generally look for. like me, i want a 97+ conversion for my MJ. what rear axle does it have? hitches, foglights, roof racks, skidplates, those are also things people look for.

i'll pull the front clip off for ya, & ya I was kinda hoping for a 99+ intake manifold, ive been holding out for one to use for my build, o well maybe I can trade for one. it does have a roof rack so i'll pull that and hold onto it. I'll have to check on the rear axle and hitches etc. its either the chrystler 8.25, dana 35, or dana 44. is there anyone who would actually want these axels? most people who are doing a build go for the D60, or the ford 9"...

I do have a class 1 hitch from an old jeep I parted out if anyone is interested.
