89 Comanche build thread

the columns are GM jobbies for sure. How did you like the kit? My MJ melted half it's fuseblock yesterday, so I'm in the market.

It was an excellent product. I don't know how easy it would be to adapt a computer into it, but I imagine with enough thought and some beer it wouldn't be too bad. I highly reccomend it though. Especially based on price. Its a fraction of the cost of similar painless products.

awesome bro... let me know if you ever need a hand!

you mustang fans are all the same. Cable clutch and everything. thats next on the list for me, I have to make that stupid little quadrant actually pull the cable...as oposed to the factory setup, you know, where it pushes the master cylinder. Im just frustrated. I prefer the cable in all seriousness, you can feel the clutch way better. i need some exhaust tubing, 2 1/4 if you got any though, now that you live so close and all.

I need some audio to those pics. For now I'll do my own little "rumble, rumble, vroom, vrooOOOMMM, rumble, rumble." ...Mmm, XJ.

ok so I know some of you have been looking foward to an update on this thread for awhile, and I know ALL of you are wondering why im not red anymore. Im fixing it dont worry. Anyway, to the point, heres the update.

The motor is running fantasticly. I drove it for the first time last saturday. Heres some pics of of few things Ive done over the last....long time...

I was able to use the stock crossmember and even the original mount with the new T-5 that went in. All it needed was a little jump from facory. I didn't weld this together for ease of replacement of the rubber mount.

RA adams shortened the driveshaft for me, and they did a fantastic job of it.

My fuel pump and fuel filter found a home under the drivers door and back a tad. I plan on building a box arond the both of them to help with noise and the obvious.

I was able to hunt an exteded brake line out of the carquest catalog. Im not sure what its for, but its like 22'' long and it bolted right in, so it was the right call.

Heres another shot of the engine comparment, right after I blew the power steering line.

This is the proffesion products distributor I installed. The little knob lets you adjust timing by a half of a degree at a time.

This is a one wire alternator that came from mean green I want to say...maybe not. either way its brand new, not rebuilt and it wasnt converted to one wire, it was manufactured that way.

This is the most recent pictue. The gauges came from Omega Kustom Gauges. I highly reccomend these guys. Affordable, great quality and fantastic customer service.

So thats my update. On the list of things to do now is order carpet, install my exhaust, install my ladder bars, order fiberglass and a couple body modifications that I am not sharing until they are done.

Oh duuuddee!! Good work! Can't wait to see this junk in person.

Okay so I got my Power steering line fixed....with more slack this time. Ill try and shoot a video of it, but I have no clue how to work this stupid smart phone. well see. Anyway, she's got gobbs of power, and that truck doesn't weigh anything!!

hey man, 11 pages with no real pics of how the body looks? get those baha fenders on it yet?

no not yet. The fiberglass for the truck is pretty expensive, The body, as you know, is nothing great to look at. Ive got the rockers all fixed up, and a few minors rust spots patched up. Im just trying to save the cash to buy the bedsides and front fenders.

Gotcha. You ned to get on that!

So when are you ever going to unvail this thing?

post 'em up. I want to see what my old MJ looks like now!

ill take some pictures of it thursday, its down at my storage facility awaiting its new wilwood master cylinder.

heres one I took right after I got the glass on, it kind of sucks but you'll get the idea. Ill take some more detailed photos of my bed supports, and some other things that I dont think anyone has seen. Jeepcomj youll like the photos of the interior because you know what it looked like.
