88 or 89 Laredo

Just a quick question my dad is giving me a laredo either an 88 or 89, just wondering what axles where common for those years and modles. TIA Paul in hawaii

scratch that come to think I belive it is a limited, it is the model that came with the gold rims.

The model does not change the axles. It will almost definatly have a Dana 35 rear and a Dana 30 front. The type of Dana 30 depends on the Transfer Case, it will be a vac disconnect if you have the 231 TC.
Some claim that the Dana 44 came in 87-89 but I have only seen them under 87's.

Yeah, you will typically see the Dana 35 under the rear...always Dana 30 in the front. I bought a Dana 44 axle that came off of a 1989 XJ....so they did have the 44 in '89....

They came in *some* XJ's with the towing pkg unfortunatly not all
