I cant seem to find anyone that has solid info on where to get or what part #'s for an 87 np231 (long shaft) i checked gojeep but i really need a 37 and he doesnt show they make one
The number is J3212737 and costs $7.05 at www.chryslerpartsdirect.com. I got mine from a V6 Cherokee with 3.73 gearing. Works great with my 32s and 4.10s. I read 0.5 mph high at all speeds according to my gps.
I think most hand-held GPS units will show speed. It's just figuring speed based on distance changes over time. Some of the really old ones only show lat/long.
I went to the dealer and asked for one. It cost $13 for a 34 tooth. Reads about 1mph off at 75, Alot better than the stock setup that was near 8mph. That too is according to my GPS, it is suppost to be accurate within .2 mph.
Or you could just do 60 in a 35 and ask the cop what his radar said. Of course Virginia considers more than 20 over to be reckless driving and they'll pull your license for six months.
