84 XJ for parts, with Detroit lockers & 4:56

I just got back from being overseas for 3 years and my project XJ has been sitting all that time. I have to get rid of it regretfully but it would make a great project for parts or a (3.4 swap) new motor. Here are the particulars:

84 XJ Wagoneer 2.8, 5 speed (woody) (( was pictured in JP magizine Nov 2000 crossing the river in Telico...XJ fest))
4 inch Trailmaster lift
Detroit Lockers both front and rear
4:56 gears
31 inch tires still holding air after 3 years
The front driveshaft was upgraded to a CJ version so no more cardigan joint.

Since it has been sitting so long it will not start. I just dont have the time to mess with it anymore. My loss is your gain. This would be a great 3.4 upgrade or just start taking parts off for you XJ. The body (has rust) and interior is beat.

I am asking 1200.00 OBO and it will need to be trailered since it is not running. The suspension, lockers, gears, wheels/tries and parts install cost me alomst 4000.00 and it was all installed by Dougs offroad of Maryville TN back in 1999 and i have the reciepts. I now live just outside of Lousiville KY.

The lockers and gears dont have much time on them. Only 2 times at Telico and i never drove it since it was gears so high.

i'm pretty sure this is your XJ... http://www.jpmagazine.com/eventcoverage/p59711_large+Jeep_Cherokee+Front_Driver_Side_View.jpg
it would make a great project vehicle... just wish i had the money, and lived closer, because i'd like to have a "toy" so i don't tear up my '00 too bad...

Yep, thats the pic. Its amazing what you can find on the internet. When i bought my XJ i had same attitude...get something thats not pretty so when i tear it up i wont be upset. I just wish i had the time and money to put into it but i have so many more important things going on in my life right now. :(

Thanks for the interest.

the funny thing is, i wasn't actually searching for you cherokee... i just wanted to see what an 84 XJ woody looked like (wasn't sure if it was the 'old' cherokee body style... SJ) and my google search of "84 XJ Woody" pulled up an image of your jeep on the first page... i clicked on it, because it was the only XJ with wood paneling on it. after reading some on the page, i was like, hey, this sounds familiar... and remembered reading about your jeep here... 'crossing the river in telico' ...and yes, it's amazing what you'll find on the internet...

New lower price...1000.00.
How about some details on the axles? Original to the truck, or? HP D30? axle disconnects? 8.25? 29 spline? or D35...................
Thanks

The axles are the originals that came with the jeep...30F/35R.

I live in Taylorsville, KY just outside of Louisville, KY. Zip is 40071.

If anyone would like more info just email me at [email protected] and we can set up a time that i could call and discuss.

Thanks for the interest.

If you'd seperate I'd buy the lift kit off ya. Let me know.

I just dont have the time to start taking parts off and just want to get rid of it all at once. I thinks it is a great deal for 1000 bux. The lockers alone cost 1000.00 so its like getting the rest (gears, lift kit, tires, etc.) for free. Just need to come haul it away. :)
