I know that its possible to put a 360cid into a CJ but I have a built 390cid and a C4 and was wondering if it would fit... Or option 2: put the drive train of an older XJ with an auto (for the GF) in to the CJ... By the way it already has a 258 but the bottom end need rebuilt and the trans has no first gear ... Also Im looking for a web forum that has just CJ7s or such like this forum....

There is a guy who just moved to Colorado who put a newer XJ motor and trans in to a CJ. It is possible.
Get a hold of OOC, he helped him.

Alright I will check in to it, I think that I will have more fun with the 4.0 drive train and an auto, maybe even make it a stroker.. Im also wondering about a wire harness...

I 4.0L bolts right in as far as bolt patterns...They are the same as the 258s..I almost did this to my old wrangler...In fact I bought a wrecked XJ to do this with. The biggest problem is the wiring...Thats the way I would go if it were me.
