6.0 LS Swap

Hell yeah! Great videos! I went with the Novak radiator, & I just got a tracking number in My email today. Pretty stoked. I'm still in the very early stages of My swap, & in no real hurry. I'll prob start a thread on Mine when I've accumulated enough pictures.

Can't wait to see it. If I can give some advice just take your time and don't cut any corners. It will pay off in the end.

Thanks, Man! I've been retired for a number of years, from the auto service industry. I enjoy this stuff, only when I can take My time, and be in no hurry to get a job out the door. Only customer to deal with, is Me....but I'm a real pain in the ass...lol

Wow, i have played around with the thought of doing this to my 01 Silver Anniv. model. Now i think i have NO CHOICE but to do this mod. Such a clean build. Subscribing. And i live in GA too so might have to come check that thing out in person.

Now that I have 200+ miles on the Jeep I thought I would give an update. The only issues that I ran into in the test drives was one of the new knock sensors was bad and there were some issues with the sparkplug gap. Online during my research I found a dispute between gaping the plugs at 060 or 040. So I went with 060... Wrong, 040 is the correct gap. It would stumble sometimes and did not have a crisp throttle. Gaped the plugs to 040 and she came Alive! Other than that no issues so far. Other than I may need new rear tires soon. Looks like I'm getting around 20+ MPG so far. Im sure once I can stay off the skinny pedal it may get better. The only downside to this swap is traction and the temptation to smoke the tires at every light. Right now Im working on the hood, hopefully I will have it on this weekend.

Here are the final picks.

Incredible work, but I am confused (it doesn't take much these days), why you have the PCM /fuse panel under your seat/rear bench when there's plenty of room for them under the hood.

Cosmetics. I hate seeing wires and a cluttered engine bay. I wanted to have the under hood as clean as I could.

I figured as much, and I can appreciate that; it certainly highlights your build. I guess, I would-have crammed it all in there just to show it can be done (in a clean fashion of course). Than again, others already did that so you have nothing to prove. Again, this is such an incredibly well-done project.

Off-topic. What did you use to spray the welds on your exhaust?

Thank you.
I used high temp header paint.

Dang man, this is ridiculously clean!! It makes me want to do it someday. I still have a lot to learn about motors and wiring though. Awesome build, thanks for taking the time to document everything.

Again, amazing work!!

cant wait to see what you do with the hood. Do you have a website for your shop? I'm not too far, in upstate SC, would love to look at this thing someday. Is this your first LS-jeep swap? Plans to add them to list of services at your shop?

I don't have a website yet due to lack of time, now that I'm almost done I will get it up and going soon .Yes I will be doing a swap for a customer next month. It's going to be a LS1 in a 99 XJ, he road in mine and now he's sold.As for the hood as of right now it's a cross between and Eleanor hood and a cowl. We will see if it turns out like what it looks like in my head.

Good. I'm gonna keep your info saved because I've been intrigued by the 5.3 swap for a while then I found your thread and videos, and in pretty well sold. Starting a new (much higher paying) job in July, and hope to do this swap in a year or two, but would be quite over my head with the wiring.
