$50 billion dollar bill

Hyperinflation, same thing that happened to Germany's deutschmarke in the early part of last century. Alot of people are warning that the same thing will happen to the US dollar if the Fed and Treasury keeps printing trillions of new dollars at will with nothing backing it....

The currency doesn't recover so forget about investing in it. There will be a new monetary system put in place, probably after the accompanying revolution, and the old currency won't be worth a continental.

But it'd sure be neat to own a fifty billion dollar bill............:D

Well dang. Sure would be nice to get in the investment while the getting is good :D

I wonder if you can do currency exchange via mail?

My stepmother's family emigrated from Germany before WWI and she's got these portfolios of the Weimer Republic deutschmarke. It starts off normal 5, 10 and 20 dm bills, then 100dm, 500dm, 1000dm then gets into the big bills 10,000dm 25,000dm and then the really big bills. Ends at I think about 10 or 20 million dm bills. Pretty cool, all worthless except as a collectors item.

I always wondered...

If the US all of the sudden came across a huge gold deposit...treasure...whatever....

Couldn't we just throw it in Ft Knox and print a whole bunch of extra money? :D

Or we could give the auto companies, banks, etc the Z bills. We would be passing $50B bailouts non-stop.

Wonder if I could get a piece of that too.

"No one now accepts the local currency. It is a waste of resources to print Zimbabwe dollar notes now. Who accepts a currency that loses value by almost 100 percent daily?"

What good is it if the local economy does not accept any domestic currency? LOL

Didn't even look at the post, and I'll bet it's from Zimbabwe.

Edit: I'd say,"damn, I'm good!", but that was way too easy.

We're not on a gold standard. Haven't been since 1917. So suddenly throwing massive amounts of gold into Fort Knox would have no effect on the value of the USD.
There also seems to be some debate about the contents of Fort Knox. Some believe that it is empty, or nearly so. According to many sources, an audit of the gold reserves in Fort knox has NOT been completed since the Eisenhower Administration.:dunno: If it is true, what is being hidden from the average US citizen?:patriot:
