Either weekend works for me. Although if you had a gun to my head and I had to choose I'd say the 22nd so that we have a weekend at home after Fall Fling...

Place doesn't matter, just do it at a reasonable hour please. Not 8am or 7pm, most will have a long drive home... As suggested above pick a place and announce it with directions.

I'll bring the WY contingent with me, we just need to know where to go, how to get there and what time to show up.

Is it OK to trailer to the meeting? :) The diesel even with the XJ on the trailer gets better mileage than driving the XJ.

Or maybe there could just be a set location so people know where it'll be held? Now that's an idea...

Jeezus, you WY guys act like this is the first time we've done this.......

This is the process we've used since the inception. The only set meeting rule we have currently is that the meeting places rotate around the state - one north, one south, one central and one in the hills (in hopes of scheduling a run on the same day). Generally accepted principal is "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" when deciding on a meeting location. The fact that we try to rotate locations helps us cater to all members as best we can.

We discuss the meeting place options and dates, choose and then meet.

Relax.

So is the Longmont place good to go? Prefer somewhere else? I can try to line a place up if I know what's preferred in a meeting spot, besides parking.

I'd be arranging something for the 15th, though, I have to work the 22nd.

I don't have a problem with what 'area' its held in, as I totally understand the concept behind the rotation. I think what we are trying to get across is that It'd be nice to have a location chosen before hand. Then use the poll to choose the date that would work best.

Or have a seperate thread for a location and/or date. Then put the NAXJA Colorado chapter stamp on that location/date so people can plan their schedule for it...

Just an idea...

Ok Will, let me put this as simply as possible. Read slowly and carefully........

THIS IS THE THREAD WHERE WE CHOOSE THE DATE AND LOCATION

Please select your preferred date using the poll feature if you haven't already.

I'm sure you already read in this thread - I asked for ideas about meeting locations....... I can't pull a location outta my arse....... WE'RE WORKING ON ESTABLISHING DATE / TIME / LOCATION. Meeting locations can't be picked ahead of time because with the size that our meetings are getting to be, we have to make calls, talk to business owners, make plans THEN we can announce it as a meeting location. Sometimes we simply pick a park somewhere - those are easy to do, but not everyone likes to stand around for a couple hours while we discuss Chapter business - having a place with tables and chairs makes for a nicer atmosphere.

I'm sorry if it's not happening quick enough for you. It's a process. Give it some time fer cryin' out loud.

:banghead:

Maybe you CO clowns need to get out in some fresh air and get out of the smog on the front range. Seems to me our compadres to the south need to relax... Obviously your brethren to the north cannot give any meaningful suggestion to the meeting place as we don't know the area (and aren't in charge...). We are all in agreement that rotation is the name of the game for meeting places, this time the general idea is that it's in northern CO. As I look at the map that's a rather general (and large) area. Think you guys could narrow it down a little??? :) Someone take charge of this train wreck, make a desicion and run with it. Sorry, I'm retired military and once in awhile Ol' Sarge slips out.

What we are saying is where ever you pick the place just let us know, preferablely with enough notice so that we can get our schedules worked out. It doesn't matter to us if it's Ft. Collins, Loveland, Longmont, Greeley, Windsor, Wellington, Johnston, Firestone, Miliken, Frederick, Boulder, Jamestown, Red Feather Lakes, etc...

I dont care where we have the meeting--let me know and I'll be there.Since its up north I cant offer any suggestions of where to have it because its out of my "territory" .I have no problem diving to Wyoming (once you get as far as Ft. Collins you might as well keep going anyways).

I vote to have it at Bob's shop :sunshine:

Thank you Jeff!!! Now we have a location. And a date, as the 22nd seems to work best.

There I solved your problem... Your welcome!! :)

-Will

Well since no one else seems to come up with any ideas I figured I'd solve the problem :). Not tryin' to fit into anyone else's briches, or insult anyone ;). Since I seem to be of no help here I'll let someone else decide...

Your getting a little brave there. Your not gonna make many friends around here by insulting people

Thanks for the concern!! :)

Justin, you got all the fresh air you can handle, so no worries there... ;) OBTW if you're thinking you're going to be original with the sheep jokes, don't bother. :)

Nice one John.

91 Jeep Project, on second thought - never mind.

Troy, pick a place. I'd help you but really can't, to far away and don't know my way around that well (down there). The shop isn't a good option for this meeting. We're right in the middle of moving then. Besides that's a bit much to ask, especially for the southern guys, to drive that far. Tell ya what though if you guys wanna do an outdoors thing there are some group picnic areas along the Poudre Canyon (HWY 14) just out of Ft. Collins also along Big Thompson Canyon (HWY 34) just out of Loveland. I'd bring a grill.

There's a suggestion, anyone have any other suggestions or shall we carry on like 2 yr olds for another couple of pages?

Bob
