Are you still planning on an axle swap soon? If so make sure the axle you are going to be swapping in will be compatible with what you are planning. If you are using a 78-79 Ford HP44 with the cast on radius arm wedges you may want to think about a radius arm design, as using a 3 or 4 link is more difficult with these axles. If you built a crossmember with mounts that would accept radius arms similar to the RE or TnT ones, you could modify it to work with the Ford raduis arms later when you do your swap. It would be a shame to put a ton of money into your rig to make the d30 work, just to scrap it all when you swap axles.

If the hp44 you are building is one of the earlier ones with the welded on wedges, then a 3 or 4 link will work well. Are you planning on using the stock CA mounts? With the amount of lift you are running, that would leave you with some pretty steep CA angles. Look into running drop brackets, some mid length arms with custom frame side mounts, or a sub-frame similar to the Skyjacker set up.

The amount of lift you are running is going to be the biggest obstical. If you dropped it down to 4.5-5.5" of lift, you could still run your 35s and get away with some short arms in the stock mounts, not to mention having a lot lower center of gravity.

Hey what's the proper term for that setup? I tried that on my boys wagon (not done yet) but didn't like how it would stear as the suspension cycled. As the rear goes up and down the panhard bar moves the axle to the side which will make it turn with this setup. If it's over or under loaded it'll crabwalk.
With a 3 or 4 link as long as the axle is level it'll point straight and only stear during articulation.

not all 78-79 hp44 have cast on wedges, only the gay ones :roflmao:

tech; f-250s have cast on spring perches and are very easy to build brackets for, also have thicker .5" tubes and bigger hubs that flex less. its 8 lug so youll need an 8 lug rear axle but that only means once you realize you need a d60 in the front youre ready to go.

plenty of people have done both 4 and 3 links, youll be fine with either. my personal opinion for a vehicle that sees street use is to go with a 4 link making one upper removable for wheeling. also all of this information is here and could be found within the search, i see youve started using it which is good but use it again.

im going rad. arms until the swap, the front axle is from a f100, and a 8.8 from a bronco. they are the same width right?
