Okay, I've been reading everything I can find, but I'm still can't find the answer I'm looking for. Maybe one of you can help?
I have an 89 XJ, 4.0 and I need to replace the engine due to a crack in the block. I think the head is okay, but I haven't check anything yet. I want to stay stock if possible, but if I find a 91-95 or a 96+ engine, will it work with the stock manifolds? If not, will it work if I swap the head (after having it checked and reworked).
Like I said, stock would be best, but finding an engine that old in good condition will be tough. What would you do?
Thanks for any input.
