4.0 rebuild

anyone reccomend someone who can rebuild my 4.0? not asking for free. but not paying the 3400 i was quoted today , in utah county or close. it runs goodish, just has a wicked knock knock knock bang.

May not be of much help in your locale, but around here on CL there are jeep 4.0's for 400-800 used all day.

Have you checked junkyards and Craigslist?

I'd go used before cheap rebuild.

There's a shop by me that specializes in Jeep engines. They sell rebuilt long blocks for $1500. Maybe if you look around you can find something similar.
