33's on 3.5RE lift?

Sorry to bring back this thread from it's grave, Last week I install some 33x10.50 BFG KM2's on my XJ. I have trimmed the front fenders, and I also have the appropriate bumpstops. I have yet to go wheeling since I am in the process of trimming/cut and fold on the rear fenders. Here's some Pre-Cut fender pics

3.5" lift and 33x12.5r15 is exactly what I run right now (Cooper Discoverer STT) and backspacing was really important (I ran it on 2" of lift for a while but my bumpstops got tired of that real quick...or the driver got tired of hitting them...tomato tomato). ;)

You will need to bumpstop a lot (probably hit the same problem I had at 2") or trim some (I used the bushwhacker flat flares and it helps a lot to give it room). In fact, 3.5" and 33x12.5 are what one of the Full Traction jeeps runs. :)

RE 3.5" lift with 33x12.50r15 BFG KM2s on 15x8 steel wheels with 3.75" backspacing and Bushwacker cut-out flares. I don't think I could go over a speed bump without rubbing severely if I didn't have the extra room after the bushwacker install.

Right after I got the tires 2 1/2 years ago

Posted pics of both tire sizes on same size lifts to give you a general idea of what it will look like

Since you will trim then it will be ok, just watch for the backspacing like others said.

I had 285/75/16s (33s) on TJ Moabs for a while with cut fenders on the RE 3.5:

However I recently got 315/70/17s (35s) on JK Moabs and I still tuck, just need a bit longer bump stops just in case: (sorry for blurry picture)

You must have yours set up for mostly droop... It don't seem like you have much up travel

Here's a pic of my 33's after trimming. I still had about 2 in before touching the inner fender on the front and 1" until the bumpstops touch the pad. I still have to trim the rear
