sheesh, even 235's with 3.07's is pretty crappy, especially with a 5 sp. 4.10's w/31's is great. it was slightly less great w/33's, but not at all bad.

Both of my Heeps have 33's....The XJ with 33's and 3.73's sucked...wouldn't pull a greasy string outta cat's butt....the 4.88's cured that problem. My MJ had 3.55's...when I built my new axles and put on the lift with 33's...I used 4.88's in it also....well when the tires wear out, i'm going to 35's...but I can red light to redlight just about anything i want....lets say merging into traffic is not a problem....and if I grit my teeth real hard I can wind the (corrected and accurate) speedometer all the way to the middle of the trip meter before it goes on the rev limiter....(disclaimer) Kids dont do this to your rig, such activity is dangerous :skull2: and is determental the health of your rigs motor. (ME...i'm LOOKIN' for an excuse to build a stroker).

Now gist ansur me this...wots rawng wid 39z an 3.07z???

We have some pretty dang nice rigs in Florida....as well as some serious junk..but from what I have seen, its the same everywhere....but do you think that everybody from Florida is a bunch of inbred rednecks or pencilnecks with mall cruisers?? Ok so we dont have mountains or miles of rocky riverbed to play on....we do the best we can with what we have...we manage to have a good time, break parts get real dirty and toss back a few cold ones...pretty much like everybody else. The week long maintenance so we can do it again next week keeps us occupied and the parts house in business.

Ha, just commenting on all the 'ebay' rigs Ive seen. Sorry to anyone in Fla. who has a nice rig ;)
And for your INFO, you neighbor made the inbred crack!

OUT

It's all good....wish there was a "tounge in cheek" emote....My MJ is the best built rig i have had so far....but till it gets thru the paint and body thing she is certainly no beauty queen....I have heard remarks like "look at that fool, hunnert dollar truck with thousand dollar wheels and tires....to those people I say "the snatch rope is in the bed....back yours over here and hook em up." She's got the full sheet Eliminator package and all the toys work perfectly and the powertrain is in absolutely perfect condition. And It will never be a "mud bogger"...any terrain but mud...except in emergencies maybe.

But if I really wanna hurt someones feelings, I break out my old XJ with the wimpy 2.5 ....It's been in the mud so much the frame rails are packed full...but it is one seriously bad rig in the mud...its very light and I dont fear breaking it...when i go playing, its gonna go thru, go down, or go BOOM!

Careful of making comparisons. 3.07s on a manual are a little better than on an auto, however no matter what...3.07s with 33s is a BAD THING.

Yeah I don't know if I mentioned I have a manual trans (not that it matters for the 33's). It was mentioned that even stock or close to stock tires suck with 3.07's. I have 30's right now and it isn't that great.

Thanks again.

Chris
