Yes Howard, my wife Barbara is over in Seattle participating in the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk. That's what the pink bracelet was from that I was wearing during the NWFest ride. 3 Days, walking 20 miles a day, for 60 miles total. She has been training for this for the past 6 months.

I've got to say that originally I was a little leery of a guy wearing a pink bracelet... :) However I told her I'd wear it for six months as that's the least I could do if she was going to walk 60 for it. Each participant had to accumulate $2,100 in donations in order to participate. In the process of that, my wife and I were totally amazed at the number of people who have had a member of their family stricken with breast cancer. And it's not just for women either guys...... lots of men also are aflicted. So I'm on my way to bury my father today, and the family insisted that Barbara complete her trip to the 3-Day instead as it is such a worthwhile effort.

I am very sorry to hear about your niece, if you will PM me her name, I will see that Barbara adds it to her shirt... she is walking for many many people.

Just got home from the closing ceramony  ,That was quite an experience.
Thank you Barbara and Bruce,It was her group and friend that carried in the flag at the end.

Hi Howard,

Had a good long talk with Barbara a little while ago. There were 2,400 people walking she said, and they generated 6+million bucks. Barbara walked the whole 60 mile thing, said she has one blister. Her sister in law was down there for the closing ceremony and I gather that next year she wants to walk the 3-Day, and Barbara said she would walk it again with her. It was quite a moving experience for her, as many of the walkers had severe physical handicaps but were determined that they wanted to do something for Breast Cancer. She was really touched by the whole event.

I'm glad you had the chance to attend the ceremonies. Next year I intend to be there for them too.

Bruce
