2wd axle and WJ brakes.

Anyone know if the TRE taper and length for WJ's are the same as the XJ? I have not been able to find the data online. One concern is that the TRE on the WJ is metric and ours are not. We do not need, want or desire high steer on the 2WD, just better stoppers.

Cal, what we see as the biggest advantage is the dual piston calipers. At the extreme end of the conversion is Brembo calipers and rotors. Just don't ask the price...

So what was the final word ? Is the JKS spacer even needed on a 2wd for the wj upgrade?

If redrilling wj rotors would the caliper bracket still need to be spaced out without the jks spacer?

With pre 99 unit bearings and WJ rotors, no spacer. With most 99 unit bearings still need the spacer.

4x4 requires the post 99 setup.

Dallas at StinkyFab and I test fit about 30 configs earlier this year.

If you're not against 5x5, just leave everything factory WJ stuff.

But then you're building a custom rear end and buying wheels instead of drilling 10 holes and running 97 wheel bearings.

Like you said Cal, there's a few ways to do it. I like being able to get parts anywhere and put them back on with no mods. And I have SRT wheels so 5x5 made more sense to me personally

??
The U-joint spacer is only there to pull the U-joint outboard to line up with the ball joint axis because the bearing mounting surface isn't in the same place when you go with WJ stuff.
If it's 2wd, no Ujoint. Pick a bolt pattern and bearing, whichever you please, and run it. No spacer required.

Unless you have and want to use the 99+ unit bearings. In which case without the spacer, your rotor would be 1/4" into one side of your caliper.

Yes, it's been reported. Lots of folks don't notice, some folks do.
The WJ pitman arm, I think, is longer (?)
I vaguely recall that a Wagoneer pitman arm improves the situation.
Some google searching will find you the thread. Here's one to get you started.
